The theme of this Tsuba is a Cow tied to a Pine Tree. It is Mumei, but has been attributed to likely being crafted by Kampei. Nishigaki Kampei was born around 1640 and was the second son of 1st generation master, Kanshiro craftsman. Kampei passed away during the Kyoho Era at around the age of 80 years old, Mid Edo Period. It has passed the Hozon tosogu in 2017. |
