Touken Matsumoto’s inhouse Polisher, Yoichiro Kawakami, submitted his polishing work at this year’s\u00a0Competition of the Contemporary Sword Craftsman\u00a0and\u00a0won first place in the Excellence\u00a0Award of the\u00a0Hirazukuri Category and\u00a0won second place in the Excellence Award of the Shinogizukuri category. From last year, he had received\u00a0six awards of excellence\u00a0showing his efforts to improve his capabilities.\u00a0We take it as proof that the recognition has increased and the polishing skill has been recognized.\u00a0This year’s\u00a0blades\u00a0are “Hida No Kami Ujifusa (WA-0264 on sale)”\u00a0 and “Musashi Daijo Korekazu, second generation (KA-0308 sold)”. These swords are polished to bring out their features and make them even more attractive. Please take a look these two works that\u00a0are exhibited at the “2021 Contemporary Swords and Artworks -The Ancient Techniques Inherited For Generations-” to be held at the Japanese Sword Museum from July 17th to September 20th.
