Sendai is the largest city in the Tohoku district and\u00a0famous for the Date Domain that\u00a0was a\u00a0domain\u00a0of the\u00a0Tokugawa Shogunate\u00a0of\u00a0Japan\u00a0during the\u00a0Edo period\u00a0from 1600 to 1871.\u00a0Under the Kokudaka\u00a0system its income rating at 625,000 Koku\u00a0was the third-largest domain in Japan. However, despite this history,\u00a0it does not have a Japanese sword specialty store.\u00a0Therefore, I made a special effort to make Japanese swords more familiar to those who were interested in coming to the exhibition.\u00a0Continuing from the last time, we had many local sword enthusiasts, including members of the local Miyagi Prefecture NBTHK. I want to thank everyone for making the event a success.\u00a0Next time, we will hold the Third Sendai Touken Ichi in October this year, just six months away.
