Other Info
This swordsmith, Kawachi no Kami Masahiro, second generation was the son of the first generation. His original swordsmith name was Masanaga, and his real name was Hashimoto Yashichiro. He was born as the first son of the first generation of Masahiro. In 1660, he received the title of Musashi Daijo. The following year in 1661, he received the title of Musashi no Kami. In 1665, when the first generation passed away, he changed his title to Kawachi no Kami and also changed his name to Masahiro. He passed away in 1699 at the age of 73. The Masahiro lineage was a branch family of the Tadayoshi family. Same as the other branch families Yukihiro and Tadakuni family. They are referred to as 'Wakihizen' to distinguish with the original Tadoyoshi Family. However, the Masahiro Family was given double compensation than the Tadatoshi Family. So the Masahiro lineage was treated family better than the main Tadayoshi Lineage. The name Masahiro was given to the Feudal Lord because Masahiro's first generation's work resembled the work of the famous Masahiro from Soshu. The Masahiro Lineage continued until the Meiji Era for ten generations. This swordsmith, Masahiro, second generation, held the same level of reputation as the first generation. The best among the Wakihizen Swordsmiths. This Katana was one of the best swords of Masahiro, second generation. This beautiful Katana has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Token.
