This was the fifth session for young sword dealers, which started last July with Nakahara sensei as the lecturer. Today, we appreciated four swords and five sword fittings, and received a lecture on the perspective of sword dealers and the knowledge we should know. In particular, everyone nodded in agreement that we had learned a lot about the differences between Owari and Yagyu tsuka.
The 16th Nishi-Kasai Token Ichi, sales event was held at the Tokyo Nishi-Kasai shop for five days beginning Wednesday, June 11. As usual, advertising was done through advertisements in the Tokyo and Chiba editions of the Yomiuri Shimbun and posters in Kasai station. We prepared a list of sword immediately after the Nodakai sword auction Taikai on June 3 to provide registered customers with the most up-to-date inventory. Many young sword enthusiasts visited to the shop through SNS. It has passed four years since the Nishikasai Token Ichi started every three months. I talked with my staff members about the fullfilment that the situation became we have hoped for, and it was a fulfilling five-day event.
Noda-kai Sword Auction Annual Taikai was held at the Noda Business Hotel. On the previous day, everyone had a great time at the gathering, where they were fascinated by magician Hitomi’s tricks and had fun competing in a rock-paper-scissors game for participation fee free tickets. On the main event day of the Taikai, about 60 sword dealers participated, and some Juyo Token, many attractive swords and sword fittings were put up for auction, resulting in a record-high turnover. I received many words of appreciation from the participants, and all the staff were filled with a sense of satisfaction as they successfully completed the long and busy two days.
