The 6th Yamagata Token Ichi October 26, 2026

The 6th Yamagata Token Ichi was held at Yamagata Big Wing for three days, starting on Friday, October 23. Our sales target for the three-day event was 10 Japanese swords. We sold three swords on the first day, getting off to a promising start toward achieving our goal. However, not a single sword was sold on the second day. On the third and final day, there was still no sign of a sale even after noon. Although we were beginning to lose hope, we continued our sales efforts. Then, with less than three hours remaining before the event closed, three swords were sold in quick succession! Although we fell short of our original target, we managed to avoid a loss, and all of our staff breathed a sigh of relief. Organizing sword exhibitions and sales events in regional cities requires considerable time and expense. Nevertheless, we remain committed to these activities, hoping to encourage more local people to develop an interest in and appreciation for Japanese swords. The next Yamagata Token Ichi will be held in April next year. We look forward to returning with an attractive selection of Japanese swords, including swords made by local swordsmiths, as well as other fascinating items.
