Other Info
The theme of this Fuchikashira is Peony and Sacred Lion. It is Mumei but has been attributed to the Yanagawa Tradition. This Tradition flourished during the mid to the end of the Edo Period. The founder was Yanagawa Naomasa, who was a disciple of Yokoya Somin. The features of the Yanagawa Tradition incorporate the features of the Yokoya Tradition and enhance the Takabori and Iroe techniques. This Fuchikashira depicts Sacred lions battling each other. The design of the Sacred lions differ from the Goto style. The Peony is depicted on the Kashira on Shakudo Nanako surface with Takabori and Iroe techniques using gold, silver, and copper inlay. It has passed the Hozon Tosogu Shinsa. An elegant and gorgeous Fuchikashira.
