A wreath of decorations, a toso vessel and toso stand, a battledore and shuttlecock, a kemari ball and coralberry. This fuchi-kashira depicts a New Year's celebration, featuring representative items of the New Year. The artist, Sawaki Akitatsu [佐脇明龍], received the name Ichibosai [一牡斎] from the Yamashina no miya [山階宮] imperial family in 1864, and was later awarded the rank of Hogen [法眼]. This fuchi-kashira was made dated "Kaei Mizunoe (1852), a fierce summer." It passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu shinsa in 2024. |
