One day, a dragon with drooping ears descended from the sky. he diagnosed the dragon as ill, applied acupuncture, and administered licorice decoction. The dragon's ailment was instantly cured, and it flew away. This fuchi-kashira depicts the scene where Ma Shihuang cures the dragon's illness and the dragon takes flight. It is rendered with rich expressiveness. It is thought to be a late Edo period Mito metalwork. |
