Other Info
A fuchi-kashira set of shakudo nanako ground, decorated in takabori and iro-e with the Twelve Zodiac animals. Each sign of the zodiac is arranged across the finely worked nanako ground, with auspicious motifs of pine and bamboo incorporated to unify the overall design. The carving is full and well-modeled, and the koberi is finished with a rope-pattern gold-covered rim, while the gold iro-e stands out vividly, giving the piece an elegant and refined appearance. From its meticulous workmanship and highly decorative style, it is considered to be a work of the Kyoto kinko school. The storage box bears a hakogaki by Kanzan Sensei, dated 1975.
