This swordsmith, Masataka, was born in 1817 in Aizu, Mutsu Province. He was a disciple of Shoken Motooki. He passed away in 1894 at the age of 77. This Katana is very long. The blade length is 2-Shaku 5-Sun 1-bu (76cm) and has a beautiful shape. This sword has Muneyaki to make it stronger. However, there are some flaws on the Shinoniji part. Considering the overall good points, this Katana still has good attraction. |
