This swordsmith, Akama Naonobu, was the son of Akama Tsunanobu. He studied forging from his father and from Gassan Tadayoshi and Tadakazu. Naonobu was active during Late Edo Period, in Yonezawa, Dewa Province. The shape of this Katana is Shinogizukuri Iorimune with strong sori, thicker than average blade. The Kitae is Koitame with jinie and Chikei. The Hamon is Suguha with short Ashi. It is in a sound condition and passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Token shinsa in 2019. |
