Variety of Shellfish is a drawing or pattern that depicts the beautiful shapes of different major shells. It is a popular design for sword fittings, kimonos, and pottery. This kozuka is made entirely of shakudo and depicts a spiral shell, sea urchin, conch shell, clam, turban shell, abalone, and clam. It is an dignified piece in the Goto School. The wear and tear of the nanako pattern shows its age. It is mumei, but has been attributed to the Goto School and has pass the Hozon Tosogu shinsa in February 2025.
