| Yoshisada [吉貞] was a Kyoto metalworker specializing during the mid-Edo period. His father Yoshinojo [吉之丞] was from Ayabe in Tanba Province. The family lineage continued as Yoshinojo-Yoshisada-Yoshiharu-Tadanaga-Toshioki-Yoshimitsu-Yoshinori-Yoshiyasu [吉之丞-義貞-吉治-忠長-利興-義光-義則-義安]. This piece is a tiger motif kozuka with a polished copper base. It depicts a tiger galloping across the earth. The sukidashi-bori carvings under the tiger indicate the ground. It passed the Hozon Tosogu shinsa in 2019. |
