| This kozuka features a gracefully flying crane with high-relief inlayed on an orderly nanako pattern ground. The back side was attached gold plate, inscribed with the maker's signature “Kansai Kazuyuki [貫齊一之], age sixty-eight” and a phrase including celebrating longevity: “南山乃壽” (The southern mountains be everlasting) was engraved. The maker, Kansai Kazuyuki, was a Kaga metalworker who studied under Gotō Zenjō (sixth generation of the Kyoto Kibei family, 1720-1795). It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu shinsa in 2025. |
