Other Info
The theme of this Tsuba is Plum Tree. It is Mumei but has been attributed to Shigemitsu, Hayashi 2nd generation Soke of the Hayashi family. He was born in 1652 as the first son of Matashichi, the first generation of the Hayashi family. He worked for the Hosokawa Clan. He passed away in 1729 and the age of 78. He held the reputation as the second top rank among the Higo craftsmen, just under Matashichi. Considering the high craftsmanship, quality, and condition, it is obvious it was crafted by Shigemitsu. It has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Tosogu in 2018.
