The theme of this Tsuba is TAWARA no Touda. In the Muromachi Period, 'TAWARA no Touda emaki' was completed and he is famous for the legend of killing a giant centipede in Mt. Mikasa-yama in the Omi Province. Judging from the features of the craftsmanship, it has been attributed to the Shonai Tradition.
