Other Info
The theme of this Tsuba is Gourds. It is Mumei but has been attributed to Kamiyoshi Fukanobu from Higo. The Kaiyoshi Tradition took over the secret skill of the Hayashi Tradition. The Land Owner, Hosokawa, ordered Kamiyoshi, 1st generation to take over. Fukanobu was the son of the 1st generation. He was born in 1798 and passed away in 1851. Judging from the Seme-tagane at the Nakago Hitsuana, and as well as from the overall condition, it has been attributed to the Kamiyoshi Fukanobu, the 2nd generation. It is crafted from well forged iron and with gold inlay. An impressive Tsuba that has passed the Hozon Tosogu in 2013.
