| The inscription on the tsuba reads "Tenka Chuko Kaisan [天下中興開山]" (Revitalization of the World), which he prided himself on being the first person to revive a school that had fallen into decline. While the details of the mei, Shoami Munemitsu [正阿弥 宗桄], is unknown, the inscription "Tenka Chuko Kaisan" is found on Iyo Shoami Morikuni [伊予正阿弥 盛国], and the spider web design in this style is found on Aizu Shoami [会津正阿弥], so it is believed to be either Iyo Shoami or Aizu Shoami. It has passed Hozon Tosogu shinsa in February 2025. |
