This tsuba is a refined iron tsuba in the shape of a mokko, with the edges slightly raised, depicts snowflake pattern openworked and bamboo grasses carved into the ground. Details of Yoshikata [義方] are unknown, but the inscription and style suggest it was of the lineage of Yoshinobu [義信] Shonai, who studied unde Kumagair Yoshiyuki [熊谷義之]. This refined tsuba passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Toogu shinsa in May 2025. |
