| The lid of the original box bears the inscription:(omote) “Hina tsuba”;(ura) “Made from old iron of Himeji Castle”;“Auspicious day in the spring of 2003”;Kokaji Yoshindo [seal].This is a small tsuba made when Yoshihara Yoshindo, one of the foremost contemporary swordsmiths and an NBTHK mukansa smith, was 60 years old. The work demonstrates the versatility and remarkable skill of this master craftsman. |
