Other Info
A shakudo migaki-ji tsuba depicting a fishing net drying scene (aboshi), probably Kaga zōgan. The surface from the seppa-dai to the rim is skillfully lowered with subtle modeling, creating a refined sense of depth.Kaga zōgan refers to works produced by artisans of the Kaga Maeda domain, characterized by the use of flat inlay in gold, silver, shakudo, and suaka to depict flowers, insects, and landscapes in an ornate yet highly refined manner. Signed examples are rare. This piece is a fine example of Kaga zōgan, with delicate hirazogan depicting drying fishing nets, accompanied by reeds and a bird.
