Tsugunaga [継永] was from Echizen Province. He was a swordsmith belonged to the Yasutsugu [康継] lineage who relocated to Edo. Tsugunaga's works are rare, and this wakizashi bears an extremely close resemblance in style and mei/inscription character style to the work of Yasutsugu's third generation in Edo. It passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Token shinsa in 2021. |
