| Yasumitsu [康光] is a representative swordsmith of the Ōei Bizen [応永備前] school, alongside Morimitsu [盛光]. This wakizashi is considered the second-generation Sakyōno-suke Yasumitsu [左京亮康光] (son of the first-generation Uemonnojo Yasumitsu [右衛門尉康光]), active from around the late Ōei 30s (1420s) through the Kakitsu and Bun'an periods (1440s-1450s). This work was by the second-generation Sakyōnojo Yasumitsu, dating from Eikyō 10 (1438). It exhibits a faint, midare-utsuri on the ji, irregular koshi-hiraki gunome hamon incorporates angular gunome and chōji-ha shaped patterns. Passed the Hozon Token shinsa in June 2025. |
