| This Wakizashi was forged by Yokoyama Kozuke Daijo Fujiwara Sukesada and Shichibe no Jo Sukesada. They were son and father collaboration. The son, Yokoyama Kozuke Daijo Sukesada, held the top swordsmith reputation of being the representative of the Sukesada lineage after the Shinto Era and into Shin-Shinto Era of the Edo Period. He receivied the title of "Kozuke Daijo" in 1664. His father, Shichibe no Jo Sukesada, passed away in 1674. Therefore, this Wakizashi was forged sometime between 1664 and 1674. The Hamon of this Wakizashi is the lower half is Gunome-midare with Yakidashi, and the upper half is Sugu-ha, It is a very impressive. This Wakizashi in a healthy and sound condition. it has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Token shina in 2023. |
