This Daisho, katana and wakizashi, unsigned blades, come with high-end black lacquered kizami-nuri saya, both blades have characterized the Mino tradition. The katana was attributed to the Shigaseki [志賀関] tradition, which representative swordsmith was Kanenobu [兼延] (around 1492-1501), from Seki, Mino province while the wakizashi was attributed to Daido [大道] (Mutsu no Kami [陸奥守], around 1573-1592). Both blades passed the Hozon Token shinsa in September 2024. The fact that they were registered at Tochigi Prefecture in 1951 (No, 3554 and 3556) , so called 'Daimyo-toroku' associates that this set of Daisho might be the heirloom items. |
