This Katana is Mumei but has been attributed to the Ko-mihara Tradition. This Tradition means swords forged from late Kamkura to Nambokucho Period in the Mihara Tradition. The Mihara Tradition was founded by Masaie in the late Kamakura Period in Mihara, Bingo Province and went on to flourish until the late Muromachi Period. The features of this Tradition are resemblance of the Yamato Tradition with beautiful Itame with Mokume Kitae. The Hamon is mainly Suguha with Hotsure, Kinsugi, and Koashi. This Katana shows these features well. It is a healthy blade in a good condition and has passed the Tokubetsu Hozon Token in 2019. It comes with an Uchigatana style Koshirae with a black lacquer Saya. |
