Onin tsuba is a thin plate tsuba with brass dots inlaid at regular intervals in a circular pattern and geometric patterns drawn with line inlay. It is said that the tsuba craftsmen in Yamashiro Province began making these tsuba around the time of the Onin period in the early Muromachi period, and the more dots inlaid around the circumference, the better the quality.
