Other Info
The Takasago scene depicts an elderly couple sweeping at the shade of a pine tree. This is a famous Noh scene that celebrates longevity and the harmonious relationship of an elderly couple. This tsuba features a pine forest on the back, and while the front does not feature the elderly couple, it does feature a broom and rake, indicating Takasago, suggesting a Takasago-rusu motif. This precious piece is a collaboration between Shigenobu of the Aizu Shōami school and swordsmith Kuniyasu. It passed the Hozon Tosogu shinsa in February 2025.
