| Kii no Kuni Yasunobu [紀伊国康信] was a Kishu Ishido [紀州石堂] school swordsmith active around the Kanbun era. He was a disciple of the first Bitchū no Kami Yasuhiro [備中守康広]. He also worked in Kyoto and Osaka. The Kishu Ishido school began when Tosa Shōkan Tameyasu [土佐将監為康] (father of the first Bitchū no Kami Yasuhiro) moved from Ishido Village in Kamo District, Ōmi Province to Wakayama in Kishu, becoming the founder of Kishu Ishido. He specialized in the vibrant, Ichimonji [一文字] style of chōji-midare hamon. This wakizashi features high ko-chōjimidare hamon. It is a typical example of Kishū Ishidō work. It passed the Hozon Token shinsa in June 2025. It comes with a black lacquered saya wakizashi koshirae. |
