Additional Information: |
This swordsmith was Yamato no Kami Fujiwara Tadayuki, fist generation from Bungo Province. He was active during the mid Edo Period. The Kitae of this Katana is special, as Sarashi-kitae as it was engraved "Made with Sarashi-kitae method." The Kitae is visible as wavy Oitame. The Hamon is thick, Notare-gunome-midare with Konie. It is a very impressive Katana of the Fujiwara Takada Tradition. It has been referred to in the book of 'Zoku Oiteken no Katana', written by Nakuhara Nobuo. |
